Man arrested for threatening courthouse
MENOMINEE — A Menominee man was arrested Friday for threatening to shoot the employees of the Menominee County Courthouse.
At approximately 8:09 a.m. Friday, Menominee County Sheriff’s Office deputies and investigators responded to reported threats made to shoot the courthouse employees. The suspect, 29-year-old Dakota Blaike Davies, was located and arrested at his residents in the city of Menominee in connection with the threats. He was arraigned later in the day in the 95-A District Court on one count of Threat of Terrorism, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
According to court documents and information presented in open court, Davies made the threats over the phone, during a call in which he expressed frustration over being ticketed earlier that morning for trespassing at the Menominee Circle K gas station. During the call, he allegedly said he was “wronged by Menominee,” that he was “going to shoot the place up,” and that he “was serious.”
Davies allegedly made the threats multiple times during the call.
Police arrested Davies around 9 a.m. at his home, located at 714 9th Avenue in Menominee.
District Court Judge Robert J. Jamo established bond at $500,000 cash or surety. Attorney Andrew Jones was appointed to represent Davies.
A probable cause conference has been scheduled for July 10 at 10 a.m. A preliminary examination is set for July 25 at 2 p.m.
