ESCANABA -- The water and wastewater departments will dominate the light Escanaba City Council agenda Thursday.
First, the council will hear a request from the wastewater department to hire and retain the services of Berger and King and Roy Ness Contracting & Sales to replace the wastewater plant's modine heater and mezzanine platform. Both projects will cost a total not to exceed $45,000, with Berger and King receiving $22,900 and Roy Ness receiving $20,100.
Then, the council will be asked to approve retaining and renewing the services of HydroCorp, of Troy, Mich., to perform a number of tasks including inspections, tests, and reviews related the the city's water distribution system. The total cost of the services would not exceed $70,968 during the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 fiscal years.
Money is available and budgeted or allotted for both projects in the current city budget.
