Karl Bohnak seeking state House seat

MARQUETTE- Meteorologist Karl Bohnak announced Friday that he will be seeking the Republican nomination for the 109th district in the Michigan State House of Representatives.

Bohnak, formerly of TV6, announced on his Facebook page that he will be setting his sights on unseating incumbent Democratic Rep. Jenn Hill to represent the Upper Peninsula in Lansing.

He joins Melody Wagner and Burt Mason in seeking the Republican nomination when the primary elections are held on Aug. 6.

Hill will also be facing competition from her own party, with Margaret Brumm and Randy Girard looking to take her on in the primary.
