ESCANABA -- The Escanaba City Council will take the first steps in creating a budget for the upcoming fiscal year when its meets Thursday.
Council will be setting dates for three public hearings in the budget process. Each year, the city council holds public hearings to get input from citizens for the upcoming fiscal year budget. City administration is asking the council to schedule the hearings on Jan 18, Feb. 15 and March 21.
Other business on the agenda is a request from the city's Public Works Department to purchase 832 garbage cans from Cascade Engineering for $45,246.
The Escanaba City Council will meet Thursday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. in council chambers at the Escanaba City Hall.
