1 min read

ESCANABA -- A third challenger has filed to run in the May 2024 recall races against Delta County commissioners Dave Moyle, Bob Barron, and Bob Petersen.

Matt Jensen filed his candidacy paperwork with the county clerk's office Thursday morning. He will challenge Petersen for 5th District seat, which represents Wells Township and Escanaba's Precinct 4, located in the northern part of the city.

Previously, Kelli Van Ginhoven filed to run against Moyle, who currently serves as the commission chair and represents District 4. This will be the second time the two candidates face off for the District 4 seat, as Van Ginhoven ran as an independent against Moyle when he was last elected in 2022.

District 4 represents Escanaba precincts 1 and 3.

Also on the ballot will be Myra Jones Croasdell, who is challenging Barron. Barron represents District 3, which includes Bark River, Ford River, and portions of Escanaba and Escanaba Township.
