Prince, Princess needed to lead Escanaba Christmas Parade

ESCANABA — A prince and princess are needed to help lead the Escanaba Christmas on Friday, Dec. 1. The Escanaba Downtown Development Authority is looking for a boy and girl age 5, 6 or 7 who would like to be in the parade.

“It is a wonderful way to kick off the festive event,” Janice Beauchamp, parade coordinator and member of the DDA board. “It is only fitting to have the kids lead a Christmas Parade with Santa. It is a memorable experience and they have a good time.”

The two are chosen by random drawing. They can enter the drawing by going to escanabadowntown.com and filling in the form. The drawing will be held on Wednesday, live on WDBC 680AM 94.5FM at 8:15 a.m.

The Escanaba Christmas Parade starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1. It run from city hall to the Escanaba Marketplace this year. Following the parade, there will be hot chocolate, music and Santa will meet with the kids at the marketplace.

Those wishing to enter a float or be in the parade can register at escanabadda.org. Line-up for the parade will begin at 5 p.m. on Dec. 1.
