Challenger files to run against Barron
ESCANABA — A challenger has filed to run against Commissioner Bob Barron in a recall election set to take place in May of next year. Myra Jones Croasdell filed her candidacy paperwork Monday morning.
Croasdell is the second person to file to run against a commissioner under recall. On Nov. 3, Kelli Van Ginhoven filed paperwork with the county clerk’s office to run against Commission Chair Dave Moyle.
Barron and Moyle represent county districts 3 and 4, respectively.
It has not been announced if Commissioner Bob Petersen — who represents District 5 and is also the subject of a recall effort — will face a recall election in May. Signatures were filed for his recall on Nov. 2 and early counts show enough valid signatures to trigger a recall election. Petersen has the right to challenge signatures.
