Paving to begin on Stephenson Avenue
ESCANABA — Weather permitting, the city of Escanaba will be paving Stephenson Avenue in the latter half of this week.
According to the Escanaba Department of Public Works, paving will begin Wednesday unless there is a weather-related delay. Paving could continue into Saturday, if necessary, with the road opening to traffic within a couple hours of the project’s completion.
Other road projects throughout the city are related to the ongoing lead service line replacement taking place across Escanaba. While these projects are less predictable than the paving on Stephenson, it is expected the city will wind up its road projects around Nov. 1. The exact end date for road projects, however, will depend on when it gets too cold or snowy for crews to work, which could happen in late October or a few weeks into November.
