ESCANABA — Yesterday, June 16, members of the community gathered to welcome U.P. State Credit Union into its new building on Lincoln Road in Escanaba. The Credit Union was formerly located on 1st Avenue.
Prior to the rebuild, 123 S. Lincoln Road was the home of Northern United Federal Credit Union, which merged with U.P. State Credit Union. The completely-renovated facilities have been updated and have nearly doubled in size to better accommodate customers. The building is also in a more convenient location for customers, according to U.P. State Credit Union CEO Ray Theoret.
“We are continuing to look for ways to better service our members and growth opportunities,” says Darcy McLean, Chief Operating Officer.
There are currently four U.P. State Credit Union locations in the Upper Peninsula. The other branches are in St. Ignace, Cedarville and Norway.
After construction began in June of last year, U.P. State Credit Union relocated to the site in February. Leading the construction project was Roy Ness Contracting & Sales Inc.
U.P. State Credit Union’s former location is now the site of Pregnancy Services of Delta County.
