ESCANABA — The regular meeting of the Escanaba City Council scheduled for Thursday, June 1 has been cancelled due to a lack of quorum.

The next scheduled meeting of the council is a special meeting set for Monday, June 5 at 9 a.m. During that meeting, the council will vote on approving the city’s utility rate ordinance. The ordinance is almost certain to pass, as the utility rates were included in the calculation of the city’s recently-approved fiscal year 2023-2024 budget.

The next regular meeting of the council will be Thursday, June 15 at 7 p.m.
