County board ends review of annexation

ESCANABA — The Delta County Board of Commissioners voted not to move forward with the review of an application for a controversial annexation proposal that would have moved more than 19,000 acres from Escanaba Township to neighboring Cornell Township.

The motion to stop the review of the annexation proposal — which leaves the townships’ borders untouched — passed in a 4-1 vote. Only Commissioner Bob Barron dissented.
