ESCANABA — A man was arrested after a false call stating there was a person with a gun at OSF St. Francis Hospital, Escanaba Public Safety officers said.

Officers responded to a report of a man hiding near the emergency room entrance with a rifle at 12:26 p.m. Wednesday. Officers made contact with the man in question and took him into custody. No firearms were located.

The man is now facing criminal charges following the false call, officers said.

The hospital was in lockdown briefly, which was lifted as soon as it was determined there was no threat present.
