Health department not reporting COVID cases
ESCANABA — Public Health Delta & Menominee Counties will no longer be reporting and posting the number of local COVID-19 cases on its website. According to the agency, the last report was filed Wednesday, Nov. 30.
In a statement on its website, the agency said the case numbers being reported do not include home testing and is no longer an accurate summary of local cases.
“As of November 30, 2022, PHDM will no longer be providing updates to the case data listed below. This case data includes positive laboratory results and healthcare provider reports of COVID-19 cases, but does not include the results of at-home tests. With at-home tests widely available and frequently used, the case data PHDM has been reporting no longer reflects the actual number of COVID-19 cases in the community,” the agency stated.
