Candy cane delivery Dec. 18 in Gladstone

GLADSTONE — Gladstone Public Safety, the Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department and the Escanaba Township Fire Department will once again be holding its annual Christmas candy cane delivery and canned food drive event on Dec. 18.

From 5 to 8 p.m., firefighters and their families, friends, and other volunteers will be traveling throughout the community handing out candy canes and collecting food items for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. During the event, fire trucks will be decorated and Christmas music will be played as the firefighters and volunteers walk the community.

Residents are asked to have their porch or exterior lights on so that volunteers know they are home and the volunteers can offer a candy cane and some holiday cheer.

Those residents that wish to donate to the canned food drive but are not comfortable with outside person-to-person contact can leave their donations on their porch or near the front of their residence.
