ESCANABA -- The Daily Press would like to remind readers that today is Election Day. Polls will be open Tuesday between 7 a.m. and p.m.
Anyone in line at their polling place by 8 p.m. has the right to vote in Michigan.
Those that have not yet registered to vote can still do so by state law until 8 p.m. on election day. To register, visit your city or township clerk's office and bring proof of eligibility and residency. Voters must be U.S. citizens, Michigan residents at the time of their registration, a resident of their city or township for at least 30 days at the time they vote, 18 years old, and not currently serving a sentence in jail or prison. Acceptable documents to prove residency include a Michigan drivers license or state ID, current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or government check.
