Players performing Cemetery Walk

ESCANABA — Players de Noc is performing their second version of “Playing Dead, a Cemetery Walk with Players de Noc “ at Lakeview Cemetery in Escanaba. Written by local writers, Andrew Jones, Katherine LeDuc, and Lori Rose, this is a great chance to enjoy some local history as told by the folks who made it.

This is a family friendly, great for all ages event and will be performed on October 13, 14, and 15 ( with a rain date of October 16) beginning at 7 p.m. each evening with tours of 20 guests each starting every 10 minutes until 8:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale on the Player’s de Noc website www.playersdenoc.org.

During the cemetery walk we can expect to meet Charles Stoll (Mark Ammel), Eli Royce (Jon Johnson) Mrs. William (Adele) Oliver (Lisa Wangrud) John and Mary Terry (Pete Dzanbozoff and Annie Page,) Dr James Tracy (Allen Palmgren), Lt Governor James MacDonald (Kelly Pepin), Catherine Christie (Kali Katerinic-Wils,) Mrs. John (Anna C.) Norton (Victoria Radke), Congressman Frederick Luecke (Jim Soderberg), and Dr. A. S. Winn (Brennan Richardson) along with a few “representative” ghosts of our past, a lumber camp cook (Andrea Sullivan), a Civil War Belle (Lori Rose) and a sailor’s widow (Autumn Fouriner). All of them have stories to tell and will be eagerly awaiting our arrival.

Guests will be guided on our journey by knowledgeable hosts, Ty Peterson, Laura Haagensen, Brady Irving, Randi Irving, Paulette Pepin, Lydia LaPalm, Laura Palmgren and Brian Tourangeau who, along with making sure we don’t get lost, will also provide tidbits of information about the cemetery and the early years of the town.

Behind the scenes, director, Nicole Rossell, stage manager, Katherine LeDuc, technical, Jamie Peterson and costumer, Beth Peterson have combined to create the atmosphere for the event.
