Meyer Township Clerk Chad D. Knodi led a dedication ceremony recently honoring the late Frank Rodman of Hermansville for his work in support of Hermansville as well as the Gold Medal Basketball tournament. The community center where the tournament takes place is now named after Rodman. Knodi also presented Rodman’s daughter, Mary Walkenhorst, and son John Rodman with a copy of the resolution the Meyer Township Board passed honoring Rodman, who died in June at age 94. An Army veteran, Frank Rodman served 25 years as Hermansville postmaster and was active in numerous community organizations. He was inducted into the Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame in 1982.
