Chenier picked to fill Bay College Board seat

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Community College Board of Trustees has appointed Nick Chenier to fill the vacancy created by Ken Groh.

Chenier was interviewed and appointed by the board on August 20. “We are thrilled to add Nick Chenier to the Bay Board of Trustees. He brings new perspectives, energy, and skills to our commitment to student success,” said Board Chair Steve Davis.

Chenier is owner and president of Chenier’s Greenhouse, Inc. with locations in Escanaba and Norway, and Chenier Enterprises, Inc. He is a graduate of Escanaba Area High School and received an associate’s degree in business administration from Bay College and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lake Superior State University.

“I am excited and honored to join the Bay College Board of Trustees. I believe that I bring a relatable perspective to students as it has only been a few years since I’ve walked the halls as a student myself. Bay has helped to give me the skills and knowledge to unlock many opportunities in life. Joining the Board of Trustees is my way of giving back by helping to guide the College in creating students that are capable and confident to go out into the real world and realize their full potential,” said Chenier stated.
