UP Health System Hospice and the Escanaba Taco Bell took advantage of Cinco de Mayo Day Wednesday to treat senior citizens living in area assisted living communities to tacos for their lunch. Taco Bell made the donation and Gayle DeShambo, account executive for UP Health System Hospice, made the deliveries. DeShambo said it was awesome to see so many smiles. Above, seniors and assisted living staff get into the spirit of Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo is an annual Mexican celebration held on May 5, which commemorates the anniversary of Mexico’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
