ESCANABA -- Delta County's count of confirmed COVID-19 positives jumped by 15 on Thursday, while Menominee County had four more cases, data from local health officials showed.
The Public Health of Delta and Menominee Counties website update Thursday also reduced Delta County's probable cases by one and listed one new probable in Menominee County. Neither county recorded a new death.
As of Thursday, Delta County has had 3,310 confirmed positives, 674 probable cases and 90 deaths, according to PHDMC. Menominee County had 1,780 confirmed, 324 probable and 40 deaths. The deaths included confirmed and probable.
State data Thursday had 13 new confirmed positives in Delta County and four in Menominee County.
For the Upper Peninsula, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services' coronavirus website Thursday added 44 new confirmed positives: 13 in Delta County; six in Houghton County; four in Menominee, Baraga and Chippewa counties; three in Marquette and Mackinac counties; two in Gogebic County; and one each in Dickinson, Iron, Luce, Ontonagon and Alger counties. Marquette County had two new deaths, Luce County one.
Using only the state's figures, the Upper Peninsula as of Thursday has had 19,662 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 423 deaths.
Across the U.P., the MDHHS data site Thursday had Keweenaw County at 143 confirmed cases and 31 probable, and one confirmed death and one probable death; Luce County, 194 confirmed cases and 225 probable, two confirmed death and one probable death; Alger County, 320 confirmed, 191 probable and two deaths, four probable; Schoolcraft County, 324 confirmed cases and 74 probable, four deaths and one probable; Ontonagon County, 405 confirmed, 56 probable and 20 deaths, one probable; Mackinac County, 423 confirmed cases and 238 probable, three deaths; Baraga County, 639 confirmed cases, 122 probable and 37 deaths; Iron County, 969 confirmed cases and 67 probable, 42 deaths and nine probable; Gogebic County, 1,026 confirmed cases and 360 probable, 22 deaths and 28 probable; Chippewa County, 1,061 confirmed cases and 1,381 probable, and 28 deaths, five probable; Menominee County, 1,777 confirmed cases, 322 probable and 39 deaths, two probable; Dickinson County, 2,378 confirmed cases and 328 probable, 59 deaths and 15 probable; Houghton County, 2,490 confirmed cases, 607 probable, 32 deaths and eight probable; Delta County, 3,301 confirmed cases and 667 probable, 72 deaths and 19 probable; and Marquette County, 4,212 confirmed cases, 802 probable and 60 deaths, one probable. State numbers are updated almost daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.
The MDHHS on Thursday posted 2,057 confirmed new coronavirus positives in Michigan for a total to date of 871,569. The state Thursday had 112 deaths attributed to the virus -- including 73 that happened earlier but recently were verified through vital records and testing, according to the MDHHS -- to reach 18,467.
