Public Health continues vaccine effort

ESCANABA — Public Health Delta & Menominee Counties (PHDM) has given an update on local COVID-19 vaccination efforts.

On Monday, March 29, PHDM received 900 first doses of the Moderna vaccine. PHDM also received 1,400 second doses of the Moderna and 300 doses of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine this week. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine has been redistributed to private providers throughout the area.

During the week of March 29 to April 4, PHDM held three second dose clinics and administered 1063 doses. Two of the clinics were held at Bay College and the other clinic was held at the Pullman House in Menominee.

PHDM has three upcoming first dose clinics. In Delta County there is a clinic scheduled for Wednesday, April 14 at Bay College. In Menominee there are clinics scheduled on Wednesday, April 7 and Tuesday, April 13 at the Pullman House. The Moderna vaccine will be administered at all three of these clinics.

Currently, anyone over the age of 18 who resides or works in Delta or Menominee counties is eligible to receive a vaccination. To get an appointment for any of the PHDM clinics sign-up on the PHDM website at www.phdm.org or call (906) 786-4111 or (906) 863-4451.
