Woman hit by car in Esky
ESCANABA — At approximately 8:59 a.m. Saturday, Escanaba Public Safety officers responded to the 3rd Avenue North and Stephenson Avenue intersection for a reported car vs. pedestrian accident.
When officers arrived, a female subject was lying in the roadway and the male driver of the vehicle was also on scene. The victim was struck by the motor vehicle while she was walking northbound in the crosswalk. The victim did have the right of way, but the driver of the motor vehicle did not see the woman and struck her as she crossed.
The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported by Rampart EMS to OSF St. Francis Hospital’s emergency room for treatment. The driver of the vehicle was at fault and was issued a citation.
Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by Delta County Central Dispatch and Rampart EMS during the incident.
