U.P. nears 12K cases of COVID-19
ESCANABA — As of Monday, the U.P. had 11,877 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 2,124 probable cases, 225 deaths and 39 probable deaths linked to the disease, according to state officials.
The figure does not include prisoners in the Michigan Department of Corrections.
According to the state’s county-by-county count issued Monday, Delta County had a total of 2,217 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 275 probable cases, 49 deaths and 10 probable deaths; Menominee County had 1,194 confirmed cases, 134 probable cases, and 18 deaths; Schoolcraft County had 164 confirmed cases, 12 probable cases, one death and one probable death.
Elsewhere in the peninsula, Alger County had 151 confirmed cases, 77 probable cases, one death and one probable deaths; Baraga County had 407 confirmed cases, 66 probable cases and 15 deaths; Chippewa County had 354 confirmed cases, 477 probable cases, and six deaths; Dickinson County had 1,650 confirmed cases, 90 probable cases, 40 deaths and six probable deaths; Gogebic County had 580 confirmed cases, 207 probable cases, 11 deaths and 12 probable deaths; Houghton County had 1,264 confirmed cases, 278 probable cases, 11 deaths and two probable deaths; Iron County had 691 confirmed cases, 36 probable cases, 29 deaths and four probable deaths; Keweenaw County had 56 confirmed cases, 12 probable cases, one death and one probable deaths; Luce County had 118 confirmed cases and 50 probable cases; Mackinac County had 215 confirmed cases and 76 probable cases; Marquette County had 2,567 confirmed cases, 308 probable cases, 30 deaths and one probable death; and Ontonagon County had 249 confirmed cases, 26 probable cases, 13 deaths and one probable death.
