Man rescued from water after boat overturns

MANISTIQUE — Law enforcement officers in Schoolcraft County rescued a man who had fallen from his overturned boat into the water Monday.

The Schoolcraft County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police, tribal police and Manistique Public Safety were called to McDonald Lake after a report of an overturned boat and a person in the water. They were able to locate a man floating down McDonald Lake near Bay Lodge Cabins. The person had a lifejacket on and was holding on to the boat while it floated down the lake. The man floated to a sandbar where he was removed from the water. The man was not injured.
