Wednesday’s paper full of holiday sales

ESCANABA — Daily Press readers will get a sneak preview of the area’s hottest Black Friday deals in the newspaper’s annual Thanksgiving edition. The paper will arrive at subscribers’ homes and local retailers Wednesday morning.

Daily Press Circulation Manager Kristal Soper said the Thanksgiving issue of the paper is always special.

“It is our biggest issue of the year,” she said, adding this is true in terms of both inserts and sales numbers.

Tomorrow’s edition of the Daily Press will feature a total of 19 inserts. Businesses including Aldi, Art Van Furniture, Ashley Furniture, Dollar General, Dunham’s Sports, Glik’s, Meijer, Menards, Michaels, Nyman Jewelers, Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza, Sears, Shoe Sensation, Tractor Supply Co., Walgreens and Walmart will be featured in the paper.

“(It’s) everything you would need, basically, for your Black Friday sales,” Soper said.

Weather permitting, Soper said Daily Press subscribers should expect their copies of Wednesday’s paper to arrive by 8 a.m.

“It’s just like a Saturday paper,” she said.

Copies of the Thanksgiving edition will be available at newsstands and businesses in the area Wednesday and Thursday, as well.

“We make sure that there’s plenty in all the stores,” Soper said.

Supplies of the Thanksgiving edition will be restocked throughout the day Wednesday. The paper will be priced at the Daily Press’ Saturday rate of $1.50.

To give Daily Press employees the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with their families and friends, the paper will not be published on Thursday, Nov. 28. The paper’s regular publication schedule and office hours will resume on Friday, Nov. 29.
