ESCANABA — For years, Escanaba business Bosk Equipment and Party Rental has provided rental services to area residents. The business celebrated its ninth anniversary in its current location Friday.

Jeremy Bosk, the business’ manager, said Bosk Equipment and Party Rental’s history dates back to 1972. Then, original Bosk Corporation owner Robert Bosk (who was Jeremy’s grandfather) decided to pursue a new source of income.

“They had a lot of extra equipment … they just started renting it out,” he said.

From 1972 to 2009, Bosk Equipment and Party Rental shared a building with Bosk Corporation.

“We were just … connected to Bosk Corporation,” Assistant Manager Sue Bosk said. The business moved into its current building (located at 2100 North Lincoln Road) on March 16, 2009.

Jeremy noted he is looking into expansion opportunities for the business at its current site.

“We do have quite a bit of property on the other side of the building,” he said.

The business aims to have a wide variety of equipment and party supplies available for people to rent, Jeremy said.

“We try to have everything someone could possibly want,” he said. To this end, Bosk Equipment and Party Rental offers heavy equipment, small equipment, lawn and garden equipment, tools, and trailers. Party rentals offered by the business include tents, tables, chairs, bounce houses, dance floors, games, and more.

Business has been healthy at Bosk Equipment and Party Rental. According to Jeremy, its most popular items are not static throughout the year.

“It depends on the time of year,” he said. In fall, winter, and spring, the majority of Bosk Equipment and Party Rental’s business is related to equipment rentals; in summer, its party rentals increase in popularity.

Jeremy said business as a whole increases in spring and summer at Bosk Equipment and Party Rental, as well. In the near future, the business will start opening every morning at 7 a.m. to accommodate this increase.

“We’re (going to) be starting our summer hours soon,” Sue said. These hours will begin on April 9 and continue through Nov. 30.

Sue said she is grateful for the support people in the area have given to Bosk Equipment and Party Rental over the years.

“Basically, we’re just thankful for the community,” she said.
