Man bound over on drug charges
ESCANABA — A 33-year-old Cornell man — arrested last month on three drug charges — was recently bound over from Delta County District Court to circuit court, where he may make a plea or schedule a trial date.
Anthony Leonard Eagle, Jr., of 11047 N. River Lane, Cornell, was stopped by police for an vehicle equipment violation in the 200 block of South 9th Street in Escanaba on Nov. 19, 2017 when he was arrested for driving on a suspended license.
A search of the vehicle resulted in officers seizing marijuana, methamphetamine and prescription pain medication which were packaged in a manner to suspect drug dealing, according to Escanaba Public Safety, adding about $1,000 in cash was also seized.
Eagle was charged with one count of delivery/manufacture of methylenedioxy methamphetamine, a 20-year felony with a maximum fine of $25,000. He was also charged with one count of possession of the analogue Hydrocodone, a two-year felony with a maximum fine of $2,000, one count of possession of marijuana, a one-year misdemeanor with a maximum fine of $2,000, and one count of driving on a suspended license, second or subsequent offense, a one-year misdemeanor with a maximum fine of $1,000.
Eagle remains lodged in jail in lieu of 10 percent of a $250,000 bond. He was ordered to not have any illegal drugs, and he must undergo drug testing.
