ESCANABA — A 17-year-old Gladstone male arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor is scheduled to go to trial later this summer in Delta County Circuit Court.

Jared Scott Grenier remains lodged in the county jail in lieu of a $100,000 cash/surety bond. He is charged with one count of attempted criminal sexual conduct, second degree, involving a person under 13 years of age, a five-year felony, and charged with one count of accosting children for immoral purposes, a four-year felony with a maximum fine of $4,000.

Grenier was arrested on the two felonies in connection with a Feb. 25, 2017 incident in Escanaba involving a minor child.

The court has since ordered him to have no contact with children under the age of 14 years. He was also ordered to have no alcohol or drugs and undergo random drug testing.

During a pretrial conference hearing that took place in probate court Monday, Grenier was scheduled for a jury trial on Aug. 30-31.
