BESSEMER TOWNSHIP — The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into a traffic crash that took the life of a 63 year old Lake Villa, Ill., man Saturday morning.

Donald L. Houghton was killed when his vehicle left the roadway on South County Road 519 (Chaney Lake Road), in Bessemer Township, striking several trees. The accident was discovered by a passing motorist. At this time it is believed that the accident actually occurred at some point during the night.
