ESCANABA — The summer music series “Live on the Lawn at Lunch,” hosted at the north garden of the Escanaba Public Library, has concluded for 2026 after a performance on Thursday by Kitty Donahoe.
One of several recurring music series in the area, Live on the Lawn was supported by Friends of the Library and took place on Thursdays between 11:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.
The first show on June 18 had been the music of Carolyn Martin & Co.; next was Gemini Moon, then Kind of Blues, Folias Music and finally Donahoe.
Food trucks also made appearances during the series; Main Squeeze Lemonade and Boho Blender were staples, and participating traveling eateries rotated to include Bella Nasi, Wildman’s and Bobaloons.
The series started six years ago to help the community bounce back after COVID. Live on the Lawn grew, and over 100 people attended the last show, the Escanaba Public Library shared on social media.
Music Monday in Ludington Park had its last session this week, too, as did Gladstone’s Summer Concert Series in Van Cleve Park.
Live outdoor music may still be found at the Gladstone Farmers Market on Mondays between 3 and 6 p.m., periodically on 10th Street in Gladstone outside Saunders Point Brewing and at Bay College for Lunchtime Live on Aug. 25.
