Gladstone Lions Club to hold annual Spring Social
GLADSTONE – The Gladstone Lions Club, in partnership with Bay de Noc Lions, will hold their annual Spring Social on Saturday, April 18 at the Terrace Bluff Country Club in Gladstone.
Doors to the event will open at 7 p.m., and the band “Borrowed Time” – a group made up of local musicians – will begin at 8 p.m.
The event will feature bucket raffles, a silent auction, 50/50 raffles and a card raffle to win a number of firearms. Proceeds from the Spring Social will benefit the purchase of a new Fire Safety House for the Delta County Fire Chiefs Association.
Community members may remember the Fire Safety House arriving every October with local firefighters to teach students about fire safety in the home. The current Fire Safety House, built as a trailer, has been in use for nearly 30 years and has shown signs of deterioration. The Fire Safety House being purchased is an inflatable version that can be used throughout the year, as it can be set up inside a gym or outside.
There is an admission fee. Lions Club International is widely recognized as the largest service club organization in the world. Their 1.4 million members serve locally and globally to help take on some of the biggest challenges facing humanity.
