ESCANABA — For the second year in a row, the Escanaba Eagles Aerie 1088 flew past the Elks to claim victory in the second annual charity shuffleboard tournament. After eight weeks of competitive shots, close calls and plenty of friendly trash‒talk, the Eagles once again prevailed.
The Elks came in determined to reclaim bragging rights, but the Eagles held the lead from the opening week. A few matches went down to the wire, but the Eagles’ consistency — or maybe just their lucky streak — carried them through.
As tradition goes, the winning club gets to choose which local charity receives the tournament funds. The Eagles are donating $680 to Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay.
