IRON MOUNTAIN — The Delta Kappa Gamma Society honored Mary Stolze of Iron Mountain at a recent Beta Sigma Chapter meeting at the First Presbyterian Church in Iron Mountain.
Stolze, who went on the most recent Upper Peninsula Honor Flight, was the program speaker Sept. 20. She served as a nurse near DaNang during the Vietnam War, and has also taught nursing at Bay College in Iron Mountain. As a U.P. Woman of Valor, her program was accompanied by a visual presentation.
The first all-women Honor Flight had 160 participants who toured the Washington D.C. area for many hours. They each received a Woman of Valor jacket. They viewed the Washington Memorial, the American heroic military representation and the Vietnam Memorial, as well as several others.
