As we close out 2025 and look ahead to a new year, it is a natural time for reflection and for renewed commitment to the future of Delta County.
One of the most meaningful investments we can make as a community is in the development of strong, capable leaders who are ready to serve, collaborate and guide us forward.
For more than 20 years, Delta Force has played a vital role in preparing individuals from across our community to assume effective leadership positions. This proven and respected program empowers participants with the knowledge, skills and inspiration needed to lead with confidence and purpose, while also building a strong network of problem-solvers dedicated to addressing community needs not only today but in the years ahead as well.
The continued growth and prosperity of our waterfront community are closely tied to the quality and commitment of our next generation of leaders. These are the individuals who will serve on boards and commissions, lead community organizations, and step into elected and appointed roles. Leadership of this caliber must be intentionally identified, nurtured, and supported. Through Delta Force, a 10-month program sponsored by many community stakeholders, those leadership resources are thoughtfully developed.
Over the past two decades, more than 400 graduates have completed the program, emerging as more informed and engaged leaders who are committed to using their talents for the betterment of Delta County.

The program’s focus includes personal leadership development and key quality-of-life issues such as education; public safety; economic and community development; local, state and federal government; and effective communication. Sessions are highly interactive and include group discussions, field experiences, and presentations by respected local leaders, offering diverse perspectives and approaches to problem-solving.
The next Delta Force class will begin with an inspirational kickoff in mid-February, followed by all-day sessions held one or two days per month through October. The program will conclude with graduation at the Chamber’s 2026 annual dinner.
Applications are being accepted through Jan. 30; enrollment is based on availability.
As we begin a new year, we challenge you to think about the emerging leaders around you – the “soaring eagles” who could benefit from this experience and who, in turn, will help strengthen our community. By encouraging participation in Delta Force, you are investing in leadership, service, and the future of Delta County.
May the year ahead be one of growth, collaboration and inspired leadership for us all.
