ESCANABA — Spectrum has donated $2,500 to Mission of Hope Delta County through the company’s employee-driven grants program, Spectrum Employee Community Grants.
“So many families receive the resources they need each school year through our back-to-school event,” said Paul Culbertson, director of Mission of Hope. “As we provide hope for many families throughout the county, Spectrum continues to be a valued partner in making sure we have the resources necessary to make every child start the school year feeling seen and prepared.”
Spectrum presented Mission of Hope with the $2,500 grant during a recent event at Wellspring Community Church.
For the past seven years, Mission of Hope has distributed new shoes, backpacks, school supplies, hygiene kids and more to families across Delta County each July. The more than 400 families that attend can also connect with local service providers offering health care, mental health resources, housing support, recovery programs and more.
Charter Communications Inc., which operates the Spectrum brand of connectivity products and services, has committed to awarding $2.5 million to local nonprofits through Spectrum Employee Community Grants. Charter pledges to support a minimum of 500 nonprofit organizations across its 41-state service area, affecting more than 70,000 community members, through 2028.
“Spectrum Employee Community Grants support local nonprofits that hold a meaningful connection to the Spectrum employees who nominate them, and to the communities they serve,” said Rahman Khan, group vice president of Community Impact at Charter. “Looking forward to the next five years, we’re increasing our investment in the program, in support of our employees’ dedication to volunteer work and vital community organizations that enhance the lives of local residents.”
