ESCANABA — Multiple 911 calls came in a little before noon on Wednesday, Aug. 13, about a vehicle that struck the UPS building at 2425 Ludington Street in Escanaba.

The Subaru Ascent’s crash into the structure came after it collided with another vehicle, a Chevy Blazer, at the intersection of North 26th Street and Ludington. An Escanaba Public Safety officer on scene said it seemed that one of the automobiles had run a red light.

Damage to the vehicles was to the front of the Blazer and the passenger side and front of the Ascent.

No injuries were immediately evident. The driver and juvenile passenger of the Subaru, along with some belongings, exited before Gene’s Towing & Recovery hauled the car away.

Damage to the building appeared minimal, but at press time the extent of structural damage was not known.

Starting at $3.50/week.
