ESCANABA — As part of the recovery from the fire that occurred earlier this year, the William Bonifas Fine Arts Center has received financial help from the Kenneth and Patricia Gartland Fund held by the Community Foundation for Delta County, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Upper Peninsula, and The Carpet and Drapery Shoppe, which is a family business that was founded by Kenneth and Patricia.
At the Bonifas, “The Carpet and Drapery Shoppe gave special pricing on the flooring we selected, and the Kenneth and Patricia Gartland Fund donated the funds to cover the flooring cost. The Carpet and Drapery Shoppe went even a step further by giving us a discount on the installation cost and offered us optional payment plans,” Executive Director Chelsea Hart said.
“We know we wanted to help make a difference with the William Bonifas Fine Arts Center as they remodeled from the lightning strike fire that occurred on May 17,” the Gartlands said.
The Community Foundation for Delta County’s board of trustees and staff, plus The Carpet and Drapery Shoppe and the Gartland family, stated they wish the William Bonifas Fine Arts Center the very best in their restoration and look forward to seeing their completion.
