Trailer destroyed by fire in Gladstone

Noah Johnson Daily Press A trailer was destroyed by fire Thursday in Gladstone.

GLADSTONE – Firefighters responded to a report of a trailer on fire in Gladstone.

Shortly before 4:45 p.m., Delta County Central Dispatch informed responders of a trailer on fire at a residence located at 8140 O.85 Road in Gladstone.

Escanaba Township Fire Department responded to the call with the assistance of Michigan State Police (MSP).

Escanaba Township Fire Department Chief Zach Denome said his department was informed that an enclosed trailer was on fire with a possible spread to the garage and nearby trees.

“We were able to get on the scene and knock it down and just contained it to an enclosed trailer,” Denome said.

The fire also burned vegetation near the trailer.

Denome added that the trailer is 14-feet and contained tools and propane tanks.

He said the homeowner was unaware of the fire until a neighbor came to tell them.

There were no reported injuries at the scene.

Denome wanted to thank Delta County Central Dispatch for their assistance.

Officials could not make a determination of the cause of the fire at this time.
