MENOMINEE — Activities of the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department. May 22-28, 2025

May 22

7:22 a.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a vehicle in the ditch on 5th St in the Village of Hermansville. The driver, a 26-year-old Hermansville woman, was located at her residence and was arrested for failure to report an accident. She was given a citation to appear and was released.

11:16 am a Deputy apprehended a juvenile in the City of Stephenson for a tobacco violation.

2:42 p.m. – A deputy responded to a vehicle in the ditch on CR 551 in Gourley Township. The driver, Alicia Hurley (19) of Carney, attempted to pass a truck while traveling northbound and lost control causing her to enter the ditch. No injuries were reported in the crash. Hurley was cited for improper passing.

5:34 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a truck vs camper crash on County Park Rd in Lake Township. A vehicle driven by Scott Nerat (68) of Menominee was attempting to get around camper that was stopped checking in but was unable fit past him. When the camper started moving so did Nerat and ended up striking the back end of the camper.No injuries were reported in the crash.

May 23

8:59 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a residence in the City of Stephenson for a kidnapping complaint. An investigation was conducted and the caller, a 28-year-old Stephenson woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated. She was transported to the hospital for clearance and then the jail to be lodged.

May 24

5:43 a.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a one vehicle crash on CR 577 in Lake Township. A vehicle driven by Anne Bastien (58) of Elkton, Fla. was traveling south and was attempting to fix her GPS which caused her to run off of the roadway and then overcorrect. She entered the ditch and overturned coming to rest upright. No injuries were reported in the crash.

6:56 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a business on US 2 & 41 in Spalding Township for a report of a larceny. The caller stated a subject stole an item from the store. An investigation was conducted and is in progress.

May 25

8:59 a.m. – A deputy was dispatched to an unlawful driving of a vehicle compliant on CR 553 in Harris Township. While investigating the suspect and vehicle were located and a traffic stop was initiated. The suspect fled a pursuit ensued and at one point the suspect entered a field and then two subjects fled on foot. A search was conducted however they were unable to be located. A female subject that stayed in the vehicle was identified and turned over to Hannahville officers for follow up.

1:05 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a dog bite complaint on River Dr in Mellen Township. The caller stated she stopped to check on a subject on the side of the road and when she went to check him his dog bit her. She had a bit on one of her fingers.

1:45 p.m. – A deputy was advised of a malicious destruction of property compliant that had occurred the night before in Nadeau Township. The caller stated that while he was parked his vehicle was damaged. Two days later the complainant called and stated that the suspect had contacted him and agreed to pay for the damages so he requested any charges be dropped.

May 26

12:30 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to an abandoned boat on River Drive in Menominee Township. The boat appeared to have been abandoned. It was towed.

12:10 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to an assault at a residence on US 41 in the City of Stephenson. Upon arrival the caller stated she was assaulted by one of her clients while she was at his house to clean. An investigation was conducted and turned over to the Prosecutor’s office for review.

01:01 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a suspicious subject on 31.5 Rd in Nadeau Township. Upon arrival an investigation was conducted and the subject, a 34-year-old Milwaukee, Wis. man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). He was transported to the Menominee County Jail where he was lodged.

May 27

9:53 a.m. – A deputy arrested a 60-year-old Menominee woman on a valid warrant in the City of Menominee. The warrant was for failure to appear for a probation hearing violation out of 95A District Court of Menominee.

5:45 p.m. – A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch with no one around on Johnson Rd in Lake Township. While investigating the driver, Ethan Luedtke-Scheer (19) of Stephenson, arrived on scene. He stated he had swerved to miss a deer and lost control causing him to go in the ditch and strike several trees. No injuries were reported. Luedtke-Scheer was cited for careless driving and was released.

11:01 p.m. – A deputy initiated a traffic stop on US 2 & 41 in Spalding Township for speed. Upon investigation the driver, a Penn Valley, Penn. woman, was arrested for operating while intoxicated and open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. The woman was transported to the Menominee County Jail where she was lodged once the investigation was complete.

May 28

11:12 a.m. – A deputy was advised to contact a subject in reference to a trespass compliant on M-69 in Harris Township. The caller stated she wanted a male subject warned of criminal trespass on her property. The subject was warned and the incident was closed.
