Bay expands general education courses in evenings
ESCANABA — Bay College announces an expanded schedule of evening general education courses for Fall semester 2025, specifically designed to provide greater flexibility for working students and other nontraditional learners.
The course offerings will allow students to fulfill their general education requirements in essential areas, including core English and Math, as well as laboratory science and social sciences. This initiative is a direct response to the growing demand for flexible scheduling options that enable students to balance academic pursuits with their full lives.
“Today’s students need course options that work for them. We know some students need and want in-person learning experience, and while we continue to explore new delivery methods, we also want to invite students to take classes on campus with our excellent faculty,” said Dr. Jessica Van Slooten, Dean of Arts and Sciences.
The Fall 2025 semester, which begins on August 26, 2025, will feature the following evening general education courses:
SOCY 208 Sociology of Marriage and the Family Wednesdays 5:00-6:15 pm
MATH 105 College Algebra Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00-7:50 pm
ENGL 101 Rhetoric and Composition Tuesdays 6:00-8:45 pm
BIOL 103 Essential Biology Tuesdays 6:00-7:50pm and Thursdays 6:00-8:50 pm
This array of courses will set students up to complete general education credits needed for many degree programs, setting them up for degree completion, workplace readiness, and transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
Registration for the Fall 2025 semester is now open. Prospective and current students are encouraged to visit the Bay College website at www.baycollege.edu to view the full course schedule, enroll, and register for classes. Financial aid and academic advising services are available to assist students in planning their educational journey.
