The Wells Lions Club, in conjunction with Lion Jim Barron representing the Escanaba High School class of 1959, donated a total of $5100 to the Eskymo football stadium bleacher project. At an event in March, Jim Barron (age 84) did 500 push-ups and sit-ups (on top of spikes, no less!) which the Lions Club committed two dollars per push-up/sit-up. On top of that the Lions Club donated another $4100 to the project. Jim enjoys not only inspiring the elderly to remain active but raising money for good causes, he previously has done events for the 4H club as well.
