ESCANABA — On behalf of the Delta County Cancer Alliance (DCCA) we would like to extend our appreciation to everybody who supported the 1st Annual Raffle sale. It was an amazing success. We are hopeful we will meet and exceed last year’s profit.

Because of the generosity of The Community Foundation of Delta County, St. Thomas Bingo, Thrivent, Phil and Lee’s Homes and Dombrowski Tree Service we are able to provide the $1750.00 in prizes at no expense to the Cancer Alliance. So the funds from every ticket sold will be used to support Delta County cancer patients enrolled with the Alliance.

The DCCA is a non-profit organization that has served thousands of local cancer patients and assists over one hundred new patients yearly. We presently have 900 active clients. I am proud to say this endearing task is being accomplished by all volunteers. We have 40 plus volunteers who faithfully run the office Monday through Friday afternoons to serve our clients in need. We also have a dedicated board of directors who work together to raise money and oversee the fiscal responsibilities of the Alliance to ensure we are financially prepared to help those in need.

If you or someone you know have been diagnosed with cancer please reach out to our office 906.786.0854..There are no financial guidelines to become a client. You simply have to be a resident of Delta County and provide your Dr. with a form to be signed and turned into the office. This will allow the patient to be eligible for $800 yearly to cover cancer related expenses and access to a loan closet of items one may need through treatments. In addition, the office also has many personal and nutritional items available.

At this time, tickets are available for sale at the DCCA office at 3430 Ludington Street, Escanaba, Monday through Friday 1 to 4 p.m. and at the Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The drawing will be held, Monday December 2. First place prize is $1,000, Second place is $500 and third place is $250.00.
