MENOMINEE — Activities of the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department.

April 4

10:43 a.m. – a deputy was advised to contact a subject in reference to a domestic assault that had happened earlier in the day in the City of Stephenson. Upon further investigation the suspect, a 39-year-old Stephenson man, was located and arrested for domestic. He was lodged at the Menominee County Jail.

April 5

2:42 a.m. – Deputies were dispatched to an address for breaking and entering on Main St in the Village of Powers. Upon further investigation the suspects were found to be friends of the owner and they were trying to prank him.

6:37 a.m. – a deputy was dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash on #9 Rd in Menominee Township. A vehicle driven by Melody Linsmeier, 56, of Wallace was traveling east when a vehicle driven by Tristan Kacynski ,19, of Wallace was attempting to pass her. Linsmeier failed to see Kacynski passing and made a left-hand turn without a turn signal cause a collision. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

5:10 p.m. – Deputies responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash on Harold St in Spalding Township. A semi driven by Gregory Napolean (28) of Milwaukee, Wis. was on the shoulder of the roadway and failed to see a vehicle driven by Justin Gustafson, 37, of Marquette when he pulled out onto the road. The vehicles collided causing disabling damage to Gustafson’s vehicle and minor damage to the semi. No injuries were reported in the crash.

April 6

2:33 a.m. – a deputy initiated a traffic stop on US 41 in Daggett Township for excessive speed. Upon further investigation, the driver a 41-year-old Carney man was arrested for operating while intoxicated 2nd and operating without security. He was also cited for speed.

10:05 a.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a retail fraud complaint on US 41 in the City of Stephenson. The caller stated a woman became upset while they were conducted a return for her and ended up walking out with the returned merchandise. Contact was made with her and the issue was resolved.

10:39 p.m. – A deputy initiated a traffic stop on US 41 in Spalding Township for speed. Contact was made with the driver, a 35-year-old Pembine woman, and she was found to have a valid warrant out of Menominee County for failure to appear for show cause on an original charge of driving while license suspended. She was lodged at the Menominee County Jail without incident.

April 8

2:56 a.m. – A deputy arrested a 34-year-old Stephenson man on a valid warrant out of 95A District Court of Menominee. The warrant was for failure to appear for show cause on an original charge of no license. The man was transported to the Menominee County Jail where he was lodged.

2:59 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a hit and run on CR 577 in Menominee Township. The caller stated they were southbound when they were struck by a pick up that was northbound. No injuries were reported and the crash is still under investigation.

April 9

12:04 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to an address on M-35 in Menominee Township for an unwanted subject complaint.

Upon further investigation the suspect, a 33-year-old Menominee man was warded of criminal trespass on the property and the incident was closed.

– 39 Law Enforcement assists/Medical calls

– 1 K-9 call

– 4 mental health crisis calls
