Activities of the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department from February 29 to March 5

February 29

10:56 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to a one vehicle traffic crash on CR566 in Spalding Township. The driver, Austyn Kirschner (21) of Powers was traveling north when she lost control and struck a power pole causing functional damage to the vehicle. No injuries were reported but she was issued a citation for speed to fast and was released.

12:51 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a residential alarm on CR 577 in Mellen Township. The area was found to be secure and the incident was closed.

2:20 p.m. A deputy was advised to contact a subject in reference to a personal protection order violation on Greenwood Ave. in Spalding Township. Upon further investigation it did not appear there was any violation that had occurred.

6:35 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to a residence on US 2 in Meyer Township for a report of domestic violence. An investigation was conducted and is ongoing.

March 1

1:07 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a hit and run on CR 577 in Mellen Township. A vehicle driven by Sierra Fletcher (23) of Stephenson was traveling west when she swerved to miss another vehicle and lost control causing her to enter the ditch. No injuries were reported and the vehicle sustained functional damage.

4:55 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to an assault that had just occurred on Menominee St in the City of Stephenson. The caller stated a subject came to her house and assaulted her and then left the area. An investigation was conducted and is ongoing.

9:16 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a juvenile runaway complaint on Cedar St in Spalding Township. The caller stated her son ran away and has not returned for the night. The subject was located and returned home.

March 2

4:16 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a one vehicle traffic crash on CR 354 in Stephenson Township. The driver, Gavyn Crawford (19) of Ingalls, was traveling north when he went around a corner and lost control causing him to enter the ditch. No injuries were reported in the crash but the vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed.

March 3

12:50 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to an address on Snuffbox Rd for a report of an assault. Upon arrival the caller stated he was assaulted but did not want to press charges. He stated he only wanted a ride.

March 4

11 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to Vega Rd in Meyer Township for a domestic. An investigation was conducted and it was found to be a family dispute and the incident was closed.

7:24 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a suspicious situation on CR 577 in Mellen Township. The caller stated there was two vehicles near an intersection and then she heard what she thought was gunshots. The area was checked but no suspicious activity was found.

March 5

12:39 p.m. A deputy initiated a traffic stop on Robert St in the City of Stephenson. Upon further investigation the driver, a 43-year-old Stephenson man, was arrested for driving while license suspended and no security on a motor vehicle. He was advised that the court would notify him and he was released.

8:38 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to a juvenile problem on Cedar St in Spalding Township. The caller stated her son was arguing with her and then left the residence. She was unsure as to where he had gone. The subject was found a short time later and returned home.

March 7

1:14 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Cedar St in Spalding Township for a larceny complaint. The caller stated she wanted to report some money stolen out of a wallet in her residence by a family member.

8:18 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to a suspicious situation on South Dr in the City of Stephenson. The caller stated they were closing up and heard some suspicious noises. The area was searched and nothing was found.

March 8

8:21 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle injury crash on US 2 & 41 in Spalding Township. The vehicles collided head on and the driver of one of the vehicles, a 58-year-old Perronville woman, was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were both transported and air lifted to the hospital for their injuries. The crash remains under investigation.

March 9

12:20 p.m. A deputy was contacted in reference to a breaking and entering that had occurred on CR 551 in Harris Township. The caller stated he was notified that his camp was broken into and some items were stolen. He stated he does have some camera footage with suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
