ESCANABA -- The Bay Sages will gather for their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. in the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay de Noc Community College.
The Bay Sages is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing lifelong learning experiences for older adults. Dues are $20 for the year and include monthly newsletters, coffee and rolls at regular meetings and a wide variety of educational opportunities for members. Guests and new members are welcome. Dues are payable at the meeting or can be mailed to Bay Sages at Bay College.
The guest speaker for the meeting will be Hillary Hatch, Social Security Administration public affairs specialist. She will be giving a virtual presentation from Grand Rapids that covers both the history of the program and also the factors involved in calculating what a retired worker will receive in benefits (monthly payments).
Future programs will include: March 7 – 50 years at the Bonifas Fine Arts Center; April 4 – Escanaba Public Library; May 2 – Henry Ford (part 2); June 7 – Travelogue -- Ray and Maggie Miller and Birthday Luncheon.
