Escanaba Troop 411 celebrated their 25 anniversary of participation with the Adopt-a-Highway cleanup program. Troop 411/ 410 of Escanaba conducted its annual fall highway clean up. As part of the Adopt-A- Highway program Troop 411/410 is responsible to maintain a 3 mile section of US. 2 west of Escanaba. You can easily tell when an area has been cleaned up by noticing the tell-tale white and green bags along the highway's edge. The clean- up area begins right near Whites Grocery. At the Troop 411/ 410 clean up night the boys and girls helping out, split into two groups one for each side of the highway. Scouts all receive hours of service time, which is required for rank advancement. Troop 411 involvements with the Adopt-A-Highway program began back in 1998 as part of an Adult Leadership/ Training project of Assistant Scoutmaster Stacy Bingham, called Wood Badge.
