ESCANABA -- The AAUW Escanaba Area Branch invites the League of Women Voters (LWV), AAUW members and interested guests to a potluck supper and meeting to welcome Dr. Nerita Hughes, president of Bay College. The event is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 18, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 500 Ogden Avenue, Escanaba.
The social will begin at 5:30 p.m., supper at 6 p.m., with the guest speaker to follow.
Dr. Hughes will be the guest speaker and share her vision and goals for Bay College under her leadership and answer questions from the audience.
AAUW members are encouraged to bring guests. The AAUW Board requests that all who plan to attend the potluck bring a dish to share and call Nancy Smith at 906-399-5188 to allow AAUW to estimate the number of people and plan for adequate food.
AAUW, founded in 1881, is open to women and men holding an associates or equivalent (e.g., RN), bachelors or higher degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution.
AAUW is a non-profit organization that advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. The AAUW Escanaba Area Branch, founded om May 14, 1973, has been empowering women and girls for over 50 years.
