CEDAR RIVER -- The West Shore Fishing Museum is open for its final weekend of the summer September 2 and 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. Central Time. The public is invited to take part in a cash raffle Sunday at 3 p.m., sales in the gift shop and plant sale area, door prizes, and a cash scavenger hunt on the nature trails. Ice cream treats and soda is available.
The museum is actively collecting commercial fishing pictures, stories, and artifacts. A new display is being developed on Fish Net and Twine Company. Families who have such items are invited to bring them on Sunday, when a scanner will be set up to scan pictures people wish to share. Gathering information is just as important, so stop by in the pavilion to chat with the archive team.
Admission is free and most of the museum is handicapped accessible and is dog friendly.
