Pregnancy Services to hold open house April 18

ESCANABA -- Pregnancy Services of Delta County will hold an Open House on Tuesday, April 18 from 3 to 5 p.m. with a ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m. at their new location at 2501 1st Ave. No., Escanaba (former U.P. State Credit Union building).

Pregnancy Services is run primarily by community volunteers with a mission to provide emotional and physical support for community women and families, and is funded by donations and grants. They offer many educational classes, along with parenting and wellness programs.

"We are so excited to invite the community to see the new location offering four times the space of our previous location. This will greatly improve our ability to serve," said Cindy Asher, Executive Director with Pregnancy Services.

Pregnancy Services also offers free lab-quality pregnancy tests, peer counseling on any subject related to the following topics: pregnancy options, adoption support, crisis intervention, prenatal and postnatal support, and sexual risk avoidance. Additional services offered include crisis intervention, man-to-man mentoring, material assistance for families, referrals to community agencies, and post abortion support.
