GLADSTONE -- Grace Church in Gladstone will host a Fishing 101 seminar from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the church.
Wannabe anglers are invited to come and learn the basics of fishing in the Upper Peninsula and Delta County, in particular. Instructors will be anglers Mike Carmin of Escanaba and Quinn Barrios of Gladstone. They will demonstrate how to select the proper rods, reels and lures, and discuss proven techniques for landing fish.
The seminar is free, said Grace Church pastor Tim Haugen, and it's not just for men. He said it' s for everyone: men, women and children -- anyone who might like to fish. Snacks will be provided.
